Following on from her much-praised single The Way, China Bowls gives us another glimpse into her intriguing inner-world in her first release of 2018, To Belong. Tackling themes of acceptance and the patterns of behaviour humans fall in to in order to feel a sense of belonging, Bowls’ reflective musings on life and love show a wisdom that belies her age. Complemented by mellow jazz and neo-soul instrumentation, Bowls’ thoughts, desires, questions and pains are laid bare in an organic but effortlessly sophisticated style. Her playfully soothing voice brings youthful vigour to some mature concepts and the world is beginning to catch on... Through intimate solo sets and dynamic full band performances, China Bowls has played across the UK, from Colston Hall to Glastonbury, Boomtown and Bestival.
